Descrição da editora
In an alternate world where the mere presence of American superheroes changed history, the US won the Vietnam War, Nixon is still president, and the cold war is in full effect. WATCHMEN begins as a murder-mystery, but soon unfolds into a planet-altering conspiracy. As the resolution comes to a head, the unlikely group of reunited heroes--Rorschach, Nite Owl, Silk Spectre, Dr. Manhattan and Ozymandias--have to test the limits of their convictions and ask themselves where the true line is between good and evil.
Watchmen is a story that takes advantage of the medium it is told in. A satirization of the superhero genre by portraying a group of morally-ambiguous "heroes" that are clearly -- and dangerously -- unstable in their respective ways. This is a really dark story it can be downright depressing particularly for someone raised on superhero comics.
This Graphic Novel certainly is well written, has interesting characters, and really nice artwork. Published in single magazine form as Watchmen 1-12. By Alan Moore with artists Dave Gibbons and John Higgins. Winner of the Hugo Award for Best Novel, 1988.
