Love's Shadow

There are two threads in this novel. The central story is that of a young married woman who finds that her husband’s earlier infatuation for someone else throws a shadow on their marriage. The other thread is the story of how her friend, Edith Ottley, adroitly copes with her pompous and irritable husband.
