Only the Beastie Boys could get famous fans as disparate as LL Cool J, Rachel Maddow, Steve Buscemi, and Jonathan Lethem to chime in on their history. Guest appearances like these pepper this entertaining survey of the group’s rise to fame, but Mike Diamond and Adam Horovitz remain the dominant voices of the audiobook (as they should be). Their raw, uncensored accounts echo the Beasties’ famously in-your-face performance style. While unspooling candid, hilarious tales of the Beasties’ three-decade journey, the duo pays loving tribute to their late bandmate, Adam Yauch. Wait until you hear Ad-Rock talk about cassette tapes—we got downright misty thinking about our old Walkmans.

Respect to Adrock and Mike D for what must have been an emotional rollercoaster to share their heartfelt hilarious stories about the life and times of Boys Entering Anarchic States Towards Internal Excellence. Beastie Boys Book (audiobook)
This book is staggeringly good ! the audio version is the beastie boys telling their own story; of course with Adam (MCA), not with us anymore (rip)the remaining two beastie boys tell the entire story of the band with the help of some very famous friends. It is laugh out loud humorous, and touching to hear Mike and Adam emotionally sort through the past without MCA (soooo upsetting), but absolutely a genius idea to have fellow famous friends and fans sub in for the missing Adam. It’s everything you would ever want it to be.
Only one question remains, When do Adam and Mike start casting for the movie?
Terrible narration
This books narration is nothing like the intro. This may be a good read but horrible narration. What a disappointment do not buy this audio book.
