Halfway Home

Unable to cope with the demands of her husband and mother-in-law, Maggie leaves them and Alexis, her 8-year-old daughter, behind to live a reclusive life in Paris. Told by her father that her mother never loved her, Alexis can never overcome a sense of loss and abandonment. Now, more than three decades have passed since Maggie and Alexis have had contact with each other. Though each longs for a reunion, neither of them is willing to take the first step, until a troubled teen steps into Alexis’ life and makes her long for closure with her past.

Told through a series of flashbacks, Mary Sheldon’s novel brings a deep range of emotions to these lost characters.
