Publisher Description
That stammer. Those basset-hound eyes. That bone-dry wit. There has never been another comedian like Bob Newhart. In this, his first audiobook ever, Newhart gives us his brilliant and bemused twist on a multitude of topics, including flying, the trials of a family holiday in a Winnebago, and more serious subjects, such as golf. And, of course, there are side-splittingly funny stories from his life and career. Who else has a drinking game named after him? ("Hi, Bob!")
This isn't a memoir like most memoirs. It's an audiobook only Bob Newhart could have conceived, with his unique worldview and irrepressibly wry humor. Oh, and there's a fair bit of plain silliness, too.
Customer Reviews
One of the greatest comedians of our time.
It was so refreshing to listen to Bob Newhart narrate his stories. These days we get so accustomed to crash bang comedy full of swearing and take it to the limit ideas. Newhart delivers, in his simple dry style, stories that develop beautifully, and will make you laugh whole heartedly. It has been a couple years since I listened to this book, and even just to think back on it brings a big grin to my face.
Bob Newhart - I shouldn't even be doing this
I loved this book. Bob Newhart narrating it made it even better. I liked Bob before, but even more now. His book was funny, moving and honest, and he didn't even have to trash anyone's reputation by doing it.
