Very helpful
This book took me to places and sights I'd missed on a previous visit. Insightful, filled with historical context, casual and friendly in delivery, I found it to enrich my trip to Rome in ways unanticipated. Many of the sights to which I was directed seemed to be ignored by other tourists - unseen, undiscovered. I felt as if I had my own personal guide, and an engaging one at that. I recommend this book. In addition, this audio guide was not interspersed with annoying "gong" stop signals that exist in some travel audio books. Ms. Weiner has the good, and less condescending, sense to suggest the listener "just hit pause".
Elyse Weiner is a pleasing, easy-going reader, too, and this can make or break a book on tape.
