Question on E.P.'s amnesia

Could it be said that e.p. in chapter 4 was "priming" and "declaratively", if he was able to say, after stating that he has a pretty good memory, that he had a sense that he was on occasion asked questions that he did not understand? Or is that just unremembered learning?
