A severed hand is found. Lieutenant Reiko Himekawa identifies it as belonging to building contractor Kenichi Takaoka, who is presumed dead, though no body can be found. But when a friend is shown a photo of the victim, he says it isn’t Takaoka. What has Himekawa stumbled into?
