In Snow Crash, Neal Stephenson took science fiction to dazzling new levels. Now, in The Diamond Age, he delivers another stunning tale. Set in 21st-century Shanghai, it is the story of what happens when a state-of-the-art interactive device falls into the hands of a street urchin named Nell. Her life, and the entire future of humanity, is about to be decoded and reprogrammed.
just plain fun
If you've got to spend a lot of time in your car this summer there is no better way to be entertained from point A to B. I purchased this book for my 30 year daughter and her daily commute…after 40+ hours of listening her only disappointment was with the fact the book was over. While Cryptonomican may be his masterpiece this is his most entertaining story.
I loved this book when I read it many years ago and bought the audio for a long car trip. I am so glad that I did. The narration is fantastic.
Voice characterizations are spot-on in my mind.
Pacing and delivery are excellent.
Cadence, nuances, 'racting are all better than any others I've ever bought.
