The Dover Cafe on Trial

After a difficult few months, Castle's Café is getting back on its feet. And with Marianne's baby due soon, there is much to look forward to, despite the havoc that the war is wreaking on Dover.

Meanwhile, Bert Castle is recovering from the injuries he sustained during an enemy attack. And though he is plagued with nightmares, at least one good thing has come out of the incident: his friendship with nurse Dot Calloway.

But when Nellie, Bert and his sister Edie are summoned to give evidence at the trial of the woman who who shot Nellie's best friend, Gladys, they soon realise that Susan Blake will not be the only one on trial . . .
