Open yourself to the transforming experience of The Power of Now, the acclaimed bestseller by revolutionary spiritual teacher Eckhart Tolle.
To make the journey into the Now we will need to leave our analytical mind and its false created self, the ego, behind. From the very first minute of Eckhart Tolle's extraordinary book, we move rapidly into a significantly higher altitude where we breathe a lighter air. We become connected to the indestructible essence of our Being, “The eternal, ever present One Life beyond the myriad forms of life that are subject to birth and death.”
Although the journey is challenging, Eckhart Tolle uses simple language and an easy question and answer format to guide us. A word of mouth phenomenon since its first publication, The Power of Now is one of those rare audiobooks with the power to create an experience in listeners, one that can radically change their lives for the better.
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
In terms of commitment, The Power of Now is somewhere between using an online meditation app and going deep into the tenets of Buddhism philosophy. Spiritual adviser Eckhart Tolle has a wonderfully soothing voice that avoids woo-woo mysticism—during the course of this book, he reveals his own struggles with depression and an overactive mind, coming across as more of a relatable friend than some kind of guru. The Power of Now positions self-improvement as an ongoing process, not a specific goal…which is probably the healthiest way to think of it.
A life altering experience.
How often do we live our lives in the present moment? This is the fundamental question that Tolle introduces to the listener. When we are filled with feelings of anxiousness, worry, regret, or pain we loose our power in the present and we find ourselves in the past or future. Tolle explains how this can easily occur and then gently guides the listener back to the present moment, were true transformation can occur. Even in the midst of great pain & sorrow, Tolle offers step-by-step exercises that allow you to regain your sense of power by observing your emotions and then transforming them into a peaceful state. The key in doing all of this, Tolle explains, is to calm the mind, to find the “off” button. This conversational style book asks some tough questions on the listener’s behalf to Tolle. Many books have been written on the power of the present moment, but none have offered such a detailed approach on how to stay in this state, especially when things appear to be going wrong. This is a book that will transform the way you live your life. A book that will alter the way you “think” about the world we live in, and most importantly offer you a real sense of peace that can only come from inner certainty.
The Power of Now
The only problem with the audio is some background noise from time to time. You don't get an index with it so you don't know exactly where you are if you want to go back to a certain chapter as you do with a regular cd. Otherwise, it is a fantastic book. I highly recommend it!
This book is to the point, non dramatic and very clear. With this in mind, this book is very helpful and will change the way your mind thinks or at least be a reminder of something one has forgot
