Packed with as much intrigue as Bletchley Park itself, this historical mystery is a fresh take on World War II. Osla, Mab, and Beth are three women doing their part for England’s war effort, working as code breakers hoping to crack the Nazis’ secret communications. The hardships of war break down their once-resilient bond, but two years after Victory in Europe Day, the estranged trio must reunite to resolve one final mystery—and maybe even repair the friendship they lost along the way. We loved getting to know the personalities, perspectives, and class differences these three heroines brought to the table. Kate Quinn fills her mystery with meticulously researched details and cameo appearances by the likes of Winston Churchill and Alan Turing, while narrator Saskia Maarleveld’s crisp British accent embodies the “keep calm and carry on” ethos of the era. Some very treacherous puzzles await Osla, Mab, and Beth—but if anyone can solve them, it’s these three.
