APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Tarryn Fisher’s juicy thriller is so twisty and surreal, at times it seemed determined to test our sanity—in the best possible way. Thursday’s marriage is a little unusual. Once a week, her husband, Seth, comes home to her. But the rest of the time, he’s off living with one of his other two wives, whom he’s made Thursday swear she will never, ever contact. This situation throws Thursday (and those listening to her story) off-balance from the first scene. When Thursday makes a horrifying discovery about Seth, The Wives shifts from a tense psychodrama to a pulse-pounding thriller that’s laced with shocking twists and revelations. Narrator Lauren Fortgang makes us believe every bit of Thursday’s nuanced character, whether she’s navigating her atypical marriage or her own fractured psyche. As Fisher’s hallucinatory thrill ride barrels toward its climax, don’t be surprised if you find excuses to keep listening a little while longer.

Didn’t want it to end
I loved this book, stayed up way to late because it hooked me in. So many twists and turns.
Predictable
The book had a strong start, despite gross stereotyping of women; women are crazy, only useful sexually, and strive to appease men. The novel also drove a strong narrative that all women want to be mothers which was really annoying. Also the medical/psychiatric treatment of the protagonist was blatantly unrealistic.
Overall, I gave it two stars as the audiobook served some entertainment on a 13 hour drive.
