This book comes from the collection of 100 drawings by Nicola Rivelli for his Chinese friends. The artist has listed the main elements of Western education and divided this book into three sections: a table, customs and manners, fashion.
Nicola Rivelli is the most famous Italian painter and sculptor in China. Rivelli has lived for years in Beijing, where he also produced important works for the Chinese government.
In 2010, China Post has issued a series of stamps with his image. Comes from an old Neapolitan family, he chose to live in China after being a member of the Italian Parliament, to engage as well as its art, the approach of Italian and Chinese cultures, creating the first museum of Chinese contemporary art in Italy. The museum Rivelli is associated with initiatives of artistic exchanges, with its gallery Rivelli 798 in Beijing.
