It is 1984. The world is in a state of perpetual war and Big Brother sees and controls all. Winston Smith, a member of the Outer Party and propaganda-writer at the Ministry of Truth, is keeping a journal he should not be keeping and falling in love with Julia, a woman he should not be seeing. Outwardly compliant, Winston dreams of rebellion against the oppressive Big Brother, risking everything to recover his lost sense of individuality and control of his own future.

APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Maybe you've never read 1984, or maybe it's been a while. Whatever the case, we can't think of a better moment to pick up George Orwell's dystopian vision of a society under absolute government control, where no person or "fact" is free from Big Brother's shadowy manipulations. Orwell's dark tour de force clearly still resonates—nearly 70 years post-publication, 1984 is flying off the shelves.

Excellent book but is free elsewhere

I was assigned this book for a high school class and never have I ever learnt so much from a book as this. It gives me goosebumps to think that Orwell was able to so illicitly paint the picture of contemporary society decades prior to its existence. This book will be the best $0.99 you will ever spend. Such a low price for such a broad and heightened perspective of the world!
One of my favorite books of all time. George Orwell was really ahead of his time and wrote a masterpiece that I can never get tired of reading. Magnificent authors. One of my favorites
