At latitude 41.4 degrees south lies the country of New Zealand. On New Years Eve 1944 in the deep south of this small nation, two boys have set out on an adventure. Their journey takes a turn when they witness a meteorite impact and decide to investigate.

But they aren't the only witnesses to the event.

The boys will encounter a ruthless and unexpected adversary, the German navy. And when a treasure of immense value is discovered, they will need all their wits about them as they try and keep it on New Zealand soil.
