7 Steps to a Happy Retirement
For retirees and pre-retirees who will settle for nothing less than the very best retirement lifestyle
Publisher Description
Retirement can be tricky. If you are a pre-retiree, you might be worried (quite rightly) about how you will fill all those days and how you will deal with the fact that your work life, its structure, social connectivity and its sense of belonging and worth, has now gone forever.
If you are already retired, you might find that retirement is not always as interesting as you had hoped and keeping it fresh requires ongoing attention and effort, to explore, to initiate, to reach out and experiment.
If you are a couple, you know how important it is to be aligned with your partner. To make sure your retirement plan's recognise the needs of each other. It is not always a smooth ride.
This book is here to help. It is a useful and practical user guide to help pre retirees transition to an exciting and fulfilling retirement, and for those already retired to help keep their retirement at its best.
Lanning started developing short courses in this area, working with retirees and pre-retirees. He discovered that the things that made a great retirement were common to many (although not always easy to bring into place) and likewise the things that stood in the way of a great retirement were also consistent (although not always easy to address.)
Based on this learning, Lanning developed the 7 Steps to a Happy Retirement - a practical, structured and easy to use methodology for building and mandating truly great retirements. Government also approached Lanning, concerned to help older members of the community stay connected, socially active and in good health, both emotionally and physically.
Lanning set up GoRetirement (https://goretirement.org), to help coordinate the growing list of initiatives in this area - online and face to face courses and programs, social media platforms, community blogs, video case studies and interviews, papers, idea generators, tips and tools.
Retirement is a big transition at an extremely important, later stage of life. It should be great. We hope this book helps.
