Publisher Description

Charlotte M. Yonge was an English teacher and Victorian era author of many fiction and non-fiction works, who dedicated her talents as a writer to the service of the church and was widely read and respected in the nineteenth century. Her books helped to spread the influence of the Oxford Movement, which sought to bring about a return of the Church of England to the High Church ideals of the late 17th century.

“A Book of Golden Deed” is a collection of stories, legends, and historical anecdotes involving scenes of suffering, bloodshed, and even barbarity but also courage, endurance, heroism and self-sacrifice.

As well as the others Yonge's literary works, this one is characterized by the historical accuracy. You have the great opportunity to get acquainted with the characters and events of a little known period of history and enjoy a story of battle and adventure!
