A Child Is Born

Advent is a time of reflection and preparation for the celebration of Christ's birth. It is also a busy time, and it can be a difficult time as well. As the holidays close in and the shopping days disappear, we can feel an inordinate amount of stress in our lives, which can make it hard to remember what we are really celebrating: the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. It was an incredible moment, with hosts of angels and songs of praise to the heavens,

But it didn't start out that way. In fact, the lead-in was as hurried and stressful as our holiday season is about to be, more so, in fact. We think our family trip to see the in-laws is a chore but at least we aren't having a kid while we do it. Jesus came to us in the midst of a road trip with his parents, back to his father's hometown. The transportation was difficult, the reservations were botched, the logistics of the birth of our Lord were bordering on disaster.

And yet, it was wonderful and amazing. Just like this Advent season is going to be. Come along on a journey through Advent with this collection of scripture and reflections focusing on the love, hope, and joy Jesus Christ brings into the world.
