Across one long night, the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come lead Scrooge through his own life — and the lives of those around him — until he is forced to confront exactly what kind of man he has become. Published in 1843, Dickens's best-loved story invented much of the modern Christmas as we know it, and remains the definitive ghost story of the season.
