Yet even the festive atmosphere can't keep the shadows of the past from looming. As Feyre navigates her first Winter Solstice as High Lady, her concern for those dearest to her deepens. They have more wounds than she anticipated-scars that will have a far-reaching impact on the future of their court.
Bridging the events of A Court of Wings and Ruin with the later books in the series, A Court of Frost and Starlight explores the far-reaching effects of a devastating war and the fierce love between friends.
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Full-blown fantasy mixes with intense interpersonal drama in this captivating slice of Sarah J. Maas’ Court of Thorns and Roses series, making your brain buzz on multiple levels. A great war has taken its toll on both the land and the people of faerie kingdom Prythian. Feyre and her beloved Rhysand now rule Prythian’s Night Court territory together, working to restore both the court and its inhabitants to their former glory. The arrival of Winter Solstice celebrations and Feyre’s 21st birthday bring some light, but Feyre and Rhysand discover darkness in many corners, be it the fears of the people or the resentments of dangerous forces outside their realm. We get plenty of magic, suspense, and epic sweep, and Maas weaves an engrossing web of political and personal complications through it all. Imagine a cross between a Tolkien saga and a particularly action-packed Shakespeare play and you won’t be too far off the mark. Prepare for a fantasy saga with brains, heart, and thrills in equal amounts.

🤝🏽👍
Very good book. Enjoyed the different perspectives. just wanted a little more action. Nonetheless, worth it.
Not a waste of time
Many mentioned that this book was almost unnecessary, but honestly there was some pretty good stuff in here. Definitely not action packed but it filled some gaps regarding the overall series. I feel as if this book gives a calm vibe to prepare readers for the last book in the series.
At first, I found it quite boring with the Solstice feeling like it is going to take forverrrr, but when new plot points were added, I gained a little more interest. Near the end, when we get more character involvement, interaction, and development, I believe this is the most significant portion of the book.
Overall, don’t believe people when they say the book feels “unnecessary,” there truly are some worthwhile things to read. Can’t wait for the last book!
Excellent series that will keep you up reading all night.
Each book ties well into the next.
