Publisher Description

Can she escape the shadows of her past?

***Previously published as Sins of the Father***

After her mother’s death, Emma Chambers must care for her eight siblings, protecting them from hunger and her father’s drunken rages. When she’s offered an escape by marrying the much older landlord, Horace Bell, she thinks her troubles are over. But Horace soon reveals his cruel side, and Emma finds herself abandoned, alone and penniless once again.

Then a chance encounter ignites a new idea: for too long, men have taken advantage of her. Now it’s time to turn the tables.

Years later, Emma has built a thriving business on the mean streets of South London. But her happiness is shattered when a figure she thought long gone returns, threatening everything she’s fought for.

Can Emma find the strength to confront her past and reclaim her life, or will she lose it all once more?

A heart-wrenching historical saga novel by the Sunday Times bestselling author, perfect for fans of Dilly Court and Rosie Goodwin.

After working for 2 years with other bereaved parents in a support group, Kitty took up writing, and now lives in Spain with her husband.
