That there is a shadow group involved in creating a breeding program to garner a controllable army of psychics is an interesting development but the aberrations that seem to be controlling the humans are too sci-fi for my taste. As a fan of the Bishop books it was sad to see the psychic element become clouded by hints of alien lifeforms. Hopefully the aliens will become nothing but a visible manifefestation of mental distortions as the mystery (yup another cliffhanger) unravels.
On the whole this book felt like too much filler with little sustenance for true enjoyment.
