A Friend Like Anian

Meeka Caldwell is a wife, mother of four and a dedicated advocate in the Down Syndrome community. Noticing she couldn‛t find any children‛s books representing African Americans with Down Syndrome, she decided to write A Friend Like Anian based on her son. This is the first of a series of children‛s books, published by Brown Baby 321, representing African Americans and highlighting community, friendship and dispelling any misconceptions regarding people with special rights. She currently resides in Upper Marlboro with her husband and three children.
