Vet Technician Hallie James, the sole witness to murder, is on the run from her protector-turned-predator NYPD boyfriend, Danny Moretti, when Australian Army Commando, Captain Logan 'Mack' Macrae, helps her rescue an injured Husky pup.

Mack's trust in the wrong woman was a mistake that cost his Unit their lives. His resolve to be alone is tested when Hallie convinces him to temporarily take the dog. Thrown together, they struggle to fight against their growing attraction for each other.

As Christmas approaches and Hallie and Mack's relationship develops, Moretti's hunt for Hallie draws ever closer. When Hallie is accused of murder, a betrayed Mack unknowingly leads her hunter to his prey.
