The work is a love story not only between Evan and Maggie but between them and restoring the derelict old home to something the Old Ladies could only have dreamed of. Stanford Lodge had a proud past and their goal was to represent it to the Old Ladies as its heritage deserved. In the process, the rebuilding of the family, each contributing to 'the cause', seemed to take its hoped for course.
