A House on a Train‪?‬

A family’s dream of homeownership becomes reality in this heartwarming and uplifting picture book based on the little-known history of Sears house kits.

When Grammy and Grampa’s cozy cottage gets too tight for Joe, his parents, and his baby sister on the way, they decide to order a new house from the Sears catalog. When it arrives in a box on the train, they build it themselves from the ground up with the help of their neighbors.

While Joe is nervous about leaving Grammy and Grampa’s house behind, he discovers it’s not windows and tiles and planks that make a home. It’s people, love, and being together.
