I may have missed a book b/t the last one I read and this but I think not. The reason I make that observation is there seemed to be a tremendous amount of life experience unexplained: how Annie died, hoe they ended up with the child. The review: It was a bit disjointed to me. Key issues left unexplained-the Vietnam experience, what was the point of the book, didn't seem to have a consistent thread of a storyline. It just missed the mark compared to previous writing. Lots of sub-plots but not pulled together well. But I give it a 4 because it possesses real life lessons born out of real life experiences. The characters are real, human , flawed but there is always the possibility for redemption. Thank you.
