A painted hypothesis notebook-notes version is the fourth volume of the series : Hypothesis notebook.
This volume was first self-published in 2017 in limited edition as a prototype by Apple printing service.
The original PDF file of the catalogue somehow got missing. This digital version is a reproduction of the printed catalogue .
The original notes /manuscript dated 2014, however, is still kept intact.

BEHIND THE SCENE—

The notes began with a hypothesis: seeing ideograms from a more intuitive manner by going back in time-to AD 100, when the Lexicon Shou Wen was complied- in order to see the old patterns with a new insight.
Upon completion of the notes, paintings done on ceramic tiles were created to see afresh the old patterns in colour.
Hence, a painted hypothesis notebook in three versions were printed to record the work.
Calligraphic studies were based on various seal types and historical transformation of six different stylistic change of characters.
