Publisher Description
Hypnosis was used in 1953 to suppress near four years of childhood traumas from a Dorset boyhood. Those memories began to return forty-nine years later while writing of childhood events for a creative writing class in Victoria, Australia, gifting him with the basis of this story of extremes. From the highs of dining at Simpsons in the Strand with wealthy friends and sharing their Harrod’s hampers to spiralling to the lows of abuse at the hands of an obsessive mother, a failed adoption-sale and near encounters with death and being rescued by a probation officer.
The effects from unravelling these memories created unexpected emotions resulting in the story being put aside. Colin, with encouragement from friends, now feels ready to share his poignant, and at times gently humorous, story.
