A School President’s Trial

Publisher Description

Being a school president can be a challenge, trying to manage school work and working with the Student Government. However, President Sean has a new set of problems that happened before he was even inaugurated, and he only has six months to fix them before he graduates from high school.

To raise money for his campaign, President Sean sold soup to the many students at Success Academy Boarding School. What's the harm? Everyone liked it, and since he already beat most of the competition, it didn't seem like anything could go wrong. However, something did go wrong. Very wrong.

The voting day in mid-October was only a few weeks away, and Sean thought he had everything in the bag. He even offered free samples to some of his friends. But that would be his downfall.

On a cold day in mid-October, Sean gave a free bowl of soup to his long time friend, John Regan. From that point, things would change. Sean's story was that the soup slipped out of John's hands since he was wearing gloves and that he didn't have a good grip, causing it to fall and burn him. Students thought the school would write an incident report, which would be the end of it, but that wasn't the case.

Days after the inauguration, President Sean is summoned to student court on the charges of danger to a student, lying, and not releasing information. He figured he had a good lawyer, his best friend, Alex. However, after getting information that Alex had been giving private information to Student Congress, the jury, in this case, he changes future lawyer,
twelfth grader, Nancy Carter, who planned to go to college and study Criminal Justice.

During the days of witness testimony, Sean begins to fear that he might lose his case and cause him to give up being president. But then a member of the Student Congress on the stand reveals something by accident. Something called the Congress Contract. What is that? No-one knew, but President Sean had to find out.

He knew this could be his only chance to prove his innocence since so many lies in student court had been told. However, what Sean found in the Congress Contract could turn the entire school upside down.
