A Shameless Little Lie
The only reason I am giving this a 4 instead of a 5 is because I wish this series was one book. Why divide into three when these books are not stand alone. It makes one pull hair out by the roots. Yes, I was warned by another review but read it anyway. Save yourself the frustration and get all three books together.
Saying that, very well written and I don’t like first person writings. An action packed and thought provoking read. Well worth the read.
Takes us to even farther extremes
Everything I said about the first book in this series, I could just copy and paste across for this book as well. Except that this book takes us to even farther extremes. Attacks are more vicious, the psychological warfare is more insidious, the conspirators are more devious. For every crumb of peace and happiness Jane’s able to claw free for herself, the forces that are working against her hit back ten-fold. The last part of this book takes a bitter, brutal twist and gifts us with a cliff-hanger ending that left me howling in pain. I need the conclusion to this series NOW.
