“A Sicilian Romance” is a gothic novel by Ann Radcliffe which became the second published work of her. The plot of the novel refers to the house of Mazzini once being a magnificent castle situated on the northern shore of Sicily. The story itself is narrated by a tourist who learns its unexpected and turbulent story from a monk. The novel relates about a life of three Mazini sisters which were destined to pass through all hardships of women's lives. Each of three sisters is going realize what it means to be engaged with persons completely unknown to you. The unique combination of psychologic terror and poetic descriptions of love will definitely attract the reader's attention.
