A Summer In Shallows

Retired teacher Martin Williams, enjoying the wonders of Italy and relaxing in his hotel room, is suddenly thrown back to his early years by reading a USA Today article about a now imprisoned evangelist who nearly ruined Martins life. Memories of his brief time as a young minister in the Virginia mountains flooded his mind with regrets for people he failed to help, troubled children he could not protect, and a powerful church member whose power he could not combat. Will the past always haunt him even though he has buried the agonizing memo-ries that destroyed his innocence and burdened him with pain?
