Queen Elizabeth II is having a royal nightmare.
A referendum divides the nation, a tumultuous election grips the United States - and the body of a staff member is found dead beside Buckingham Palace swimming pool.
Is it a tragic accident, as the police think? Or is something more sinister going on?
As Her Majesty looks for answers, her trusted assistant, Rozie, is on the trail of a treasured painting that once hung outside the Queen's bedroom.
But when Rozie receives a threatening anonymous letter, Elizabeth knows dark forces are at work - and far too close to home. After all, though the staff and public may not realise it, she is the keenest sleuth among them. Sometimes, it takes a Queen's eye to see connections where no one else can . . .
Agatha Christie meets The Crown in A THREE DOG PROBLEM, the much-anticipated second book in the 'Her Majesty The Queen Investigates' mystery series by SJ Bennett - for fans of The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman, Agatha Christie and M.C. Beaton's Agatha Raisin.

APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
If you’ve ever wondered what the Queen actually gets up to in her spare time, chances are you’ve never imagined her secretly solving crimes. But that’s that exact premise of S. J. Bennett’s charming Her Majesty The Queen Investigates series. A Three-Dog Problem, the second book in the series (but which doesn’t require you to have read the first), finds the Queen reflecting on the events of 2016, from the Brexit referendum to Theresa May becoming the British prime minister and Donald Trump’s US election win. That should be quite enough to be getting on with, only one of the Queen’s beloved paintings has mysteriously turned up somewhere it shouldn’t have, and the body of a much-disliked housekeeper has been discovered by the pool at Buckingham Palace. The Queen—along with her brilliant assistant private secretary Rozie—is spurred into action. And if any of that sounds silly, somehow it never is. Instead, A Three Dog Problem is a delightful crime novel to curl up with, absent of gruesome details and chilling discoveries, and filled with twists, wit and richly imagined details about life inside the walls of Buckingham Palace. The Queen may be one of the most enigmatic characters on the planet, but if she’s anything like the Queen Elizabeth II of Bennett’s novels, we like her very much indeed.
