A Time to Die

F. Scott Fitzgerald is quoted as saying, "There are no second acts in America." Janika Ann Konnor, called "Jake" by anyone who knows her, takes that quote as a personal challenge

Jake is a recently transplanted Northerner and newly minted private detective who hangs out her shingle in a small Southern town and finds out the hard way that Southern revenge is a dish best served cold.

She is hired to conduct a simple infidelity investigation but soon finds herself caught up in a killer's quest for vengeance.

There is a murder. A client with a reckless past. Siblings with sinister secrets. A woman desperate to keep her son out of foster care. And a free-loading furry feline who has Jake wrapped around his paw. 

Jake must race the clock to uncover the killer before it's her client's time to die.
