Accidental Runaway Groom

Nothing can be better than the Montgomery’s and the McBrides together. Everything screamed that Sharp was making a bad decision, despite having good intentions. But when things don’t go as planned, the small town drama heats up and so does the slow burn between Sharp and Jamie. This quick nouvelle had me has me hooked and I can’t wait for more.

A chance meeting under unusual and awkward circumstances leads to a friendship and so much more. Sharp had a lucky escape from his ex and realizes love played no part in their relationship. He is beginning to suspect that his sister-in-law’s cousin, Jamie, may be his “one”, but that brings a whole lot of complications. Jamie rescued him on the day of his failed wedding and they have gotten to know each other in the six months since, over texts and messages. Now she is back on his family’s ranch visiting her cousin. Neither can keep their distance from each other and she seems to share his feelings, but her life is in Colorado while his is here in Wyoming. Then there is the fact that she is ten years younger and currently being labelled as a homewrecker by his ex and her family, making her a pariah in his home town. Neither seems willing to admit their feelings or to talk about their future either, even though their families can clearly see what is going on between them.

I loved the connection and easy banter between Jamie and Sharp. Their chemistry is intense enough that everyone on the ranch notices. I enjoyed Jamie ‘s klutziness, her nerdy personality and need to be organized. She is sunshine personified and draws everyone to her, especially Sharp. His protective nature, and his rapport with his siblings makes Sharp rather endearing. His family’s dynamics compare favourably to Jamie’s large Montgomery family. I couldn’t help but like Jamie and Sharp. Their story is delightful to read.

I just can’t get enough of those Montgomerys. Pair them up with the McBrides and you know things are going to happen. A short novella but just enough to whet your appetite. Humour, drama, family, and a touch of spice … enough to reel you in and get you hooked all over again. Book two in this series can be read alone as everything is written so well. Did I mention I love these Montgomerys?
