The Pacific Crest Trail runs from the Mexican border in California to the Canadian border in Washington. In 2009, Diane decided to hike from her front door in Santa Barbara, through the Los Padres National Forest and into the desert to meet the Pacific Crest Trail and follow it to Canada. Each night she recorded her experiences, the people she met along the way, the places visited and the adventures of hiking solo in nature's most beautiful and wild places.
