Publisher Description

Adventures are a powerful reminder of what life should mean to us.

Have you recently thought about having an adventure?

What types of adventures are in your head? Do they sometimes scream for your attention? If so, why are you suppressing thoughts of an adventure?

What excuses do you use to avoid an adventure? Is it possible that you are denying yourself the most exciting stage of your entire life?

Often, life’s daily chores make us feel bored and stale. To appreciate what you have right now, you may have to scare yourself occasionally. Scaring ourselves through adventure is like re-setting life. Every now and then, everyone needs to re-boot.

Today is a good day to disconnect from the fantasy world of media and step into the real world of adventure. There is no such thing as ‘one day’. Commit yourself to an authentic adventure today.

Self-denial of an adventure is not the end of it. Thoughts of adventures don’t just go away because we stop thinking about them. Old thoughts of adventure never leave us they just fester away in the background tainting everything we do in the future.

A lack of money is not a valid reason to give up on an adventure. Although, this is the most common excuse I hear. If you’re prepared to sacrifice your luxuries, then you can afford an adventure.

If you’re prepared to step out of your comfort zone, then life-changing journeys will be yours. I believe that apart from fight or flight, fear is mostly a baseless emotion.

If you’re willing to let go of pre-conceived ideas about your life, then you are on your way.

Taking small adventures on weekends can be enough to help you appreciate life. Taking larger adventures could change your life altogether. Never take for granted your ability to have an adventure.

One of my all time favourite adventures was hitchhiking with a friend around outback Australia for less than $5. We covered over ten thousand kilometres. We were often hungry, tired, dirty and happy. This adventure taught us to give up control and to appreciate every single day as if it was our last.

In the following pages, through my personal observations and my own experiences, I hope to inspire you to live out your amazing adventures.
