After the Dragon Raid

Tassia is an elite soldier who rescues wanderer Sam while on a dangerous raid inside the compound of a lunatic enchantress. He remains bound to Tassia's homeland as he serves off his debt. Tassia becomes his confidant and her garden is an oasis for both of them to escape trauma and hardship. Despite the back aches and dirty fingernails, the pair grows closer over rows of vegetables. Sam falls first, wholly and immediately, while reluctant Tassia's feelings bloom slowly.

Just as Tassia and Sam start to believe they've found solace and peace in each other, Tassia is devastated by loss after a vicious a dragon raid. But Sam is not who he says he is. And when Tassia's queen uncovers Sam's true identity, Tassia is left reeling and uncertain of what to believe.

As Tassia and Sam attempt to set aside hurts and secure peace between rival kingdoms, they find that their relationship and their very lives are in jeopardy.
