In thus novel Rory and Nellie Flynn, owners of an aerospace technology company, invent an AI-based wristwatch with a primary purpose to weaning youth off addictive smartphones.
The Agentico (Ah GENT ah Koh) wristwatch uses Agents to provide hundreds of personal services. The Agents serve as personal assistants to access the huge databases on the Internet via “ARTI” voice commands with 3-D halograms projected from the wearer’s wrist.
The first half of the book details the design and production of this new tool. The reader learns all about the revolutionary SISTEM 51 wristwatch made by Swatch in Switzerland. The timepiece has only 51 parts assembled by robots which proves perfect for the Agentico.
The second half of the book is a series of creative uses of the watch by athletes, production supervisors, Marines on a missions, college students, cardiac doctors and Alzheimer patients. In personal scenarios, lonely teenagers are cured of depression by the interactive Agentico.
In the end, Flynn’s new company goes public on the NYSE and becomes an acquisition target for IBM because of worldwide benefits.
