A love-starved air pilot is taken offguard by her brother’s good friend, a kind but secretive wildlife ranger who comes to bunk in her house for a few weeks. All I Want—the latest book in Jill Shalvis’ popular Animal Magnetism series, set in the alluringly named Sunshine, Idaho—starts with a meet-cute but develops into a satisfying story about two mature adults who fall hard for each other. It’s a fun, flirty read thanks in large part to Shalvis' smart, witty, and decent protagonists, Zoe and Parker.

If someone had reminded Parker James that no dying man ever said, "I wish I had spent more time at work," the flimsy central conflict of Shalvis's otherwise excellent seventh Animal Magnetism contemporary romance (after Still the One) would have vanished within a few chapters. Idaho bush pilot Zoe Stone agrees to play host to her brother's friend Parker. Parker, a federal agent who investigates wildlife trafficking, claims to be on vacation, but his actual intent is to ferret out a dangerous big game smuggler involved with a right-wing militia. Zoe and Parker's incendiary attraction and their witty, sexy banter are delightful, as are the marvelous scenes involving Zoe's dog and a couple of kittens that Parker temporarily adopts. Readers will love Zoe's fierce independence until late in the book, when her behavior turns stubbornly reckless. That's really a minor complaint, though, compared to Parker's single-minded focus on his job when the love of a lifetime is blatantly staring him in the face.

All I Want
This was book 7 in a series about Animals and Rescue dogs and romantic vets and on and on. Loved the entire series. However, and this is just a personal observation, I enjoy reading series books because it allows you to keep up with the heroes and heroines in the previous episode. So I was and am always disappointed when the series fail to encompass the previous characters and we lose touch. We never found out what sex the baby was of who the contact was for Parker in his new job. Anyway, just something I wish would be referenced in upcoming books in a series.
I give this and the whole 7 books a 4 Star.
