With his connection to the Mafia and his job working for a shady senator, Rod Andiluigi used to think he was made for a life of crime. He was definitely good at it. Breaking into offices, stealing files and threatening anyone foolish enough to get on his boss' bad side. It isn't until his first kidnapping job that he realizes how wrong he is.

Yet reformation turns out to be much easier said than done. Particularly when Rod has a long list of players who want to take him out. Scrambling to protect people who have good reason not to trust him, he's left dodging a ruthless hitman who's a master at mindgames. And down in D.C., the FBI is deciding if he's worth backing while his old boss has long-since deemed him disposable. The matchup is progressing all over the board in ways he can't predict, and the timer is ticking. But Rod knew he wasn't at the kiddy table when he decided to play it straight.
