An Autobiography

Elizabeth Butler was a British female painter, one of the few to achieve fame. She specialised in history paintings especially battle scenes from the Crimea and the Boer war. Born in Switzerland she married a titled English army officer and they were posted to the far corners of the empire with their six children. A very interesting and fascinating woman with a story to tell.
