An Educators Journey in Digital Documentation

This year I had made it my goal to collect all my observations on my iPad and to organize them in a way that would simplify the writing of the Communication of Learning, which is how we report on student learning in the Ontario Kindergarten Program. We wanted to put our students in charge of collecting documentation, and we wanted to learn more about our students through sitting back and observing them at play and during instructional times.

In no way do I consider myself to be an expert at pedagogical documentation, in fact I may even consider myself a “Newbie.” There are hundreds of books on the topic and thousands of Reggio trained educators out there that I am sure would surpass my abilities. However I do realize that we all start out somewhere, so it is my hope that you can take the  information in this book as a starting point, gain ideas, and expand on my examples, sharing your new found knowledge with other educators everywhere.
