Publisher Description
She's a lycan princess in desperate need of a competitor to win her hand. He's the only one who can fight for her, except he's sworn an oath to another.
Bronze could only kill so many demons in a night before even he, a fallen sentinel angel, got bored at work. So, when he comes across an unconscious exquisite woman on his watch, it doesn't take long for things to get interesting. Especially when the woman possesses a relic that would not only end the demon war, but enable him to finally fulfill a sacred vow that's tormented him for eons.
For Clara Ander, what's more cliché than a runaway bride? A runaway lycan princess who'd rather take her chances with an unknown male than be mated off to a lycan warlord of her brutal father's choosing. But hidden away in her cloistered conclave, she isn't prepared for the fallen angel who has her questioning everything she knows about fate and her own power.
With thoughts of finally ending the war and fulfilling his oath rivaling his deepening passion for Clara, Bronze agrees to enter the Betrothal Games: a series of contests whereby the winner gains Clara's hand in marriage . . . as well as access to the lycan stronghold where the very relic he needs is stored.
When truths are revealed, can Clara's newfound strength withstand the looming perils of a broken heart? Let the games begin.

Competition to Rule
This is a great story within the series but focuses less on Cryo. Bronze had some foreshadowing at the end of the last novel about someone like Clara. I really enjoyed watching the world of Angels and lycans collide, somehow tied together by a relic. Watching the story unfold with specific details relating to each of these magical beings is quite interesting. I found that the fun banter that is always present with these angels reminds me a bit bit of JR Ward and the Black Dagger Brotherhood- playful and a bit sarcastic while firmly connected to pop-culture. I must say I loved how the story unfolded and details were resolved in very unexpected ways. Already I am looking forward to the next novel about Rhode.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily sharing my honest review.
