By an amalgamation of firms, Anne lost the position that had brought her to Town. As temporary employment she deputised for an invalid char-woman, and became an angel of mercy in the houses she served. Ultimately a better position was found for her.

A brightly-written sunshiny story that, without preachings, makes simple goodness and kindliness very attractive.
