Keeling and Cormac!
Keelie has only seen the destructive side of love and she is determined to protect herself from experiencing it again. She has a career she enjoys and thought she was content with her life until a sexy hockey shows her what has been missing but she worries that he will hurt her like everyone who has come before him.
Cormac is a professional hockey player who almost lost his hockey career when his marriage ended. He hasn't been interested in allowing a woman into his heart or his life since then but when he meets Keelie he knows she is special and now he needs to convince her that she trust him to be the one person who will stay.
From their first meeting there was no denying the chemistry and connection between Cormac and Keelie. They both have pasts to overcome but with trust, understanding and love they showed they were meant to be together. I am really enjoying this series and looking forward to the next series.
Delicious slow-burn romance
This is a rather delicious slow-burn romance with two people you can’t help but love. Tough pro hockey player, Cormac, has a soft centre that he hides very well, especially after his ex wife ripped out his heart and stomped on it. It’s been years since his divorce, no dating, no relationships other than the friendships he has with his teammates. It takes just one meeting with a shy, compassionate beauty to reawaken his frozen heart. Kellie is an occupation therapist who helps her young students build their skills so that they can flourish and become part of a regular classroom. She also avoids relationships with the opposite sex and has few friends. Her childhood experiences have left her with deep trust issues. Meeting Cormac and seeing him interact with her young student sets off some sparks, but his reputation makes her very wary. Cormac is nothing if not determined, so he begins a slow, measured and thoughtful pursuit of Kellie. Their chemistry is white hot, but rather than rush her and risk scaring her off, he takes it slow, gets to know her and shows her he is sincere and looking for a lifetime of love not just a fling. Can he win her over after a lifetime of having her heart bruised and her trust betrayed?
