Anoxic Filtration System

The author is trying to pass off “Static Substrate bed “ filtration as some filtration new method that he discovered. Do not believe The claims of “denitrification” from baskets of clay. If your going to build this filter system expecting it to remove nitrates, it won’t without plants.
I have tried to discover where this Author received a PhD in Ichthyology, and his name does not come up in the registry of any schools with a prominent Ichthyology , Fisheries, or Biology program. Attempts to contact him directly proved fruitless, as he blocks people on YouTube when they ask about his education. Which only further leads me to believe he is no PhD graduate

This is an excellent explanation of the science of the entire nitrate cycle. Dr. Novak has a Phd in Ickthyology and contrary to another review his credentials are not in doubt. Nor is he a snake oil salesmen. He is explaining the bio-chemistry of the denitrification process. He is not selling any thing, just educating the reader. The material is difficult to read because it requires an understanding of microbiology. A serious aquarium fish keeper should study the material.
