Publisher Description
Janice Georgina Alice Eleanor Switlo, B.Com, J.D. is someone well known for her tireless work on Indigenous issues. She is a peacekeeper and a helper of Nations, Elders and Hereditary Chiefs and she especially enjoys supporting Indigenous university students and youth. More than two decades ago she made her commitment in a longhouse on the West Coast of Turtle Island, among nations, the Ancestors, of four directions. She carries important messages on nation and treaty protection and enforcement and has published extensively, including more than 150 treatises on Indigenous nations. Apple Cede 2.0, is her latest contribution and in it, as always, she has a lot to warn Indigenous nationals about, including further analysis on the First Nations Land Management Act regime and the First Nations Property Ownership initiative. Encouraging and reminding about Indigenous nations, to think and act beyond local community and single treaty borders, Switlo sheds new light on treaties with the Crown and the effort to render them defunct. She is here to help but she always asks first for an answer to her question: “Who are you?”
